Love Actually: Review

Saturday 10.16.2004

Hmmm, a mixed bag, some parts more interesting than others, nice holiday fare tho, a good feel-good movie. The guy in love with his best friend's bride was great, I loved her realization of his feelings and the signs he made. Martine McCutcheon was great as the tea girl and Hugh Grant did very well what he does best, playing the bumbling, tongue-tied, shy sort of guy. The last part of their story, with him going to her sister's pageant was gorgeous. Liam Neeson shone as the single dad helping his son with his first love, the airport scene was great. Colin Firth was also terrific in his determination to learn Portugese so he can romance the maid he met on his vacation. All in all, quite a good movie, lovely to hear all the British accents and see London at the holidays too.
