Something else I watched recently reminded me of this movie and I stuck it on my queue at Netflix. It was made almost 20 years ago but it's still a great movie. Brilliant performances by Jane Fonda, Meg Tilly and Anne Bancroft are set against the austerity of the convent and the coldness of a Canadian fall. There's something mesmerizing about the whole thing, even tho you know that what happened was simply a rape/seduction and unwanted pregnancy, there's still those images seen thru Agnes' eyes of the doves and the light and the halos.
